Portal unfolds through concentric fields of color, light, and motion that appear to open and recede within the image. Layers shift gradually in depth and intensity, creating the sensation of looking into a space that is continually forming beyond the surface of the screen.

The composition moves between expansion and contraction, drawing the eye inward without resolving into a fixed destination. Luminous structures emerge, overlap, and dissolve, allowing the work to suggest passage, distance, and dimensionality while remaining entirely abstract.

Part of Dolphin Brown’s continuing investigation into moving image as a spatial and perceptual medium, Portal to Peace considers how light, color, and duration can create the experience of entering an image rather than simply observing it. The work becomes less a representation of a portal than a continuously shifting threshold—one defined through movement, depth, and sustained looking.
