Between Forms begins with the recognizable structure of a lotus and gradually unsettles its boundaries. Through layered digital transformation, contours emerge, separate, overlap, and reform, creating a shifting relationship between the recorded flower and the structures developing across its surface.

The work moves continually between recognition and abstraction. At moments the lotus appears almost intact; at others, its form is interrupted by new lines, colors, and translucent layers that seem to trace, extend, or reconstruct what is already present.

Part of Dolphin Brown’s continuing investigation into moving image, transformation, and sustained perception, Between Forms considers how identity can persist even as form changes. Rather than resolving into a single image, the work remains in motion beyond its original boundaries, allowing new relationships to emerge between what is recognizable and what is still becoming.
